Error Codes
Error Code | Meaning | Common Causes | Solution |
1 | Under current | Eco mode is restricting the current and setting off limit error. Usually when going up hills or under extra load | change the bike mode to normal or power |
5 | Brake Sensor activated up startup | Lever being pulled, Sensor screw too tight, Faulty sensor | Unplug each brake sensor 1 by 1 to isolate it. It could be because the sensor is screwed in to tight or a faulty sensor which is extremely rare |
6 | Under Voltage | Deep charge, Isolalte to a certain power level (usually higher power levels) | |
9 | Controller based error | Component failure | Disconnect the following plugs while the bike is on (except display): PAS sensor, throttle. While watching the display does the error go away? Restart bike, error gone? This is to rule out throttle and PAS sensor from the ER09. |

Error Code diagnostics
Error 9
If this error code occurs after a period of use, disconnect the adapter, PAS sensor, and motor wire respectively to check whether the error code changes or disappears, turning off the bike each time.
Step 1: Check your wire harness, disconnect your throttle plug then turn the bike off and on. If the error code disappears after disconnection, this is the faulty part. If the error code is still there, proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Check the brake by disconnecting the brake connection plug (left first and then right), then turn the bike off and on and check if the code is still there. If the code disappears, the faulty part is the brake connection. If the error code is still there, proceed to step 3.
Step 3: Check the pedal assist sensor located underneath the crank by disconnecting the pedal assist sensor then turn the bike off and on. If the error code disappears problem is the sensor, if the error code is still there proceed to the next step.
Step 4: Last but not least is the motor cable connection. Disconnect the motor cable plug then turn the bike off and on and check if the error code goes away.
After all these steps are done and if nothing works let us know. Take note to reattach each connection every time you disconnect the plug.
