Battery Capacity Explanations

For customers on how battery ranges are advertised.

For example, max range may be 100km and throttle range 20km

Dirodi eBike Battery Capacity Overview 48V 15.6Ah point of reference

-When charging brick LED goes green after red, up to 8 hours charge

-A fully charged battery displays in voltage between 54.5V and 53.0V

-New battery cells manage to stay at the highest voltage possible and as they get used they will max out at 85% of original (53V). The timeline to 85% is how battery is used, but mainly over 2 years.

-The range of a brand new battery mathematically on 15.6ah 48v Rover Gen4 battery with 75kg rider, flat ground, max speed 45kmh 750w and full throttle is 20km. Complete endurance settings, 25kmh 250w (ECO mode) throttle disabled up to 80km with rider pedal assist. Though not many riders will have the patience to test this. And Rover Plus battery 17.4ah is slightly larger in capacity, throttle range 25km.

-There are many factors to battery range, weight, tyre pressure, pedal power, power/speed settings.

-We advertise battery range based on the traditional math of the battery specs, like all ebike manufacturers do therefore to give customers a frame of reference for expectations and education on battery terminology. Also take into account that a lot of fitness ebikes have smaller batteries due to the riding position being more pedal effective. The Rover bike is 35kg and not very pedal efficient. Hence we advertise dual battery system $950 and have increased latest (Gen5-6) battery capacity to 52V 20AH.

-Also to note, the display battery bars are not as accurate as reading the voltage. The voltage range is 54V-44V (100%-0%). The bars represent battery percentage a little differently, 54V-50V will be the whole first bar and is 40% of the bikes range, while the remaining bars are approximately 20% range for each bar. Therefore confusing many users on battery range, so I would recommend testing your bike range noting the voltage 54V-44V and getting back to us if what I have explained corresponds to your battery capacity. As after all the Rover Gen1-4 rigid fork model has the medium sized 15.6ah battery and suspension model has a 17.4ah battery (15% more range) and our Gen5 all bikes have a 20ah battery.

If you deem your battery capacity is getting less than 17km in range on full throttle, then your battery can be sent to our office for a load test and potential replacement under warranty. Turn around time is about 10 days depending location in Australia.

Dirodi eBike Battery Capacity Overview 52V 20Ah point of reference

-When charging brick LED goes green after red, up to 10-12 hours charge. Safest charge rate ‘2A’.

-A fully charged battery displays in voltage between 58.8V-58V

-New battery cells manage to stay at the highest voltage possible for longer when new and gradually degrade over years with use until a certain point - usually 80% of original after 2 years and can sit at that capacity/range for a number of years still if treated well.

-The range of a brand new battery mathematically on 20ah 52v Rover Gen5/6 battery with 75kg rider, flat ground, max speed 45kmh 1000w and full throttle is 30km and low settings, 25kmh 250w (ECO mode) throttle disabled up to 100km with rider pedal assist.

-There are many factors to battery range, weight, tyre pressure, pedal power, power/speed settings.

-We advertise battery range based on the traditional math of the battery specs, like all ebike manufacturers do to therefore to give customers a frame of reference for expectations and education on battery terminology.

-Also to note, the display battery bars are not as accurate as reading the voltage. The voltage range is 58.8V-45.9V~ (100%-0%). The bars represent battery percentage a little differently, 58.8V-54.5V will be the whole first bar and is 25-30% of the bikes range, while the remaining bars are approximately 20% range for each bar. Therefore confusing many users on battery range, so I would recommend testing your bike range noting the voltage 58.8V-45.9V
