The Rover Pro's strongest distinction is not just its motor option. It combines the Rover bench-saddle format with front and rear suspension, lockable under-seat storage and an electronic rear-wheel lock. Those features deserve a closer look because they affect how you set up, park and use the bike.

These are equipment descriptions, not promises of a particular ride feel, range or theft outcome. Accessory inclusions can change, so distinguish standard equipment from optional additions on the selected order.
Why rear suspension is the important comparison
On an uneven surface, the front and rear wheels encounter bumps at different times. A suspension fork addresses movement at the front; rear suspension adds controlled movement between the rear wheel assembly and the supported frame. That is the key structural distinction when comparing the Pro with a front-suspension Rover Plus.
The Pro's rear adjustments have different jobs. Preload changes the spring's initial compression and the bike's loaded position; it does not change a coil spring's underlying spring rate. Rebound controls how quickly the suspension returns after compression. These general principles are explained in SRAM's suspension setup guide, although its model-specific settings must not be applied to the Pro's KKE components. Neither adjustment is simply a switch between comfortable and uncomfortable.
Ask for setup guidance for your weight and permitted load, then assess the bike on the type of surface you actually use. Do not copy a setting intended for a different rider. Check the current manual for component instructions, and leave unfamiliar adjustments or faults to a suitably equipped mechanic. Full suspension is not permission for jumps, stunts or riding outside the bike's intended use.
The bench saddle changes how to assess fit
The long saddle is part of the Rover's distinctive layout. It gives a different seating arrangement from Primo or Vivo's conventional adjustable saddle. During a fit check, pay attention to knee bend while pedalling, handlebar reach and how easily you can stabilise the bike at a stop.
Try the manoeuvres you will repeat most: moving the bike out of storage, turning in a confined space, starting on a gentle incline and parking with your usual luggage. A short seated photograph cannot tell you how well the bike fits your proportions. If you prefer substantial saddle-height adjustment, also compare the Primo and Vivo layouts.
Storage and security: useful, but different jobs
Under-seat storage can keep a compact toolkit, rain layer or suitable lock with the bike. Check clearance and secure the contents so they do not move or interfere with any components. Do not assume the compartment is suitable for every battery or electrical accessory simply because an item fits inside it.
The electronic wheel lock prevents the rear wheel rotating when activated. It does not physically anchor the bike to the ground. For public parking, use an appropriate lock securing the frame to a permitted fixed object and follow any insurance lock requirements.
The product page also describes an optional steering-lock system. Treat that as a separate option, not an inclusion on every Pro. Ask which security components are supplied, how they are enabled and how access is restored if a key or password is lost.
Carrying capacity needs more than one number
The published rear-rack limit is a component limit. You must also observe the complete bike's rated load, the chosen basket or accessory limit and any passenger-equipment requirements. Do not add the rack limit to the bike's overall allowance as though they were independent extra capacities.
Plan where the load sits, not just what it weighs. Secure items against shifting and keep them clear of steering, wheels, suspension movement and lighting. If passenger use is intended, obtain confirmation of the specific approved arrangement and check the applicable government rules before using it.
Motor choice and private-land riding

Who should shortlist the Rover Pro?
The Pro deserves a look if you like the bench-saddle layout and will make use of its rear suspension, integrated storage and carrying system. Decide whether those features solve something specific in your routine, then verify fit, storage space, transport arrangements and the selected configuration.
